Dr. Epstein is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Medical School. He trained in Pediatrics, Pediatric Cardiology, and Pediatric and Congenital Electrophysiology at Children's Hospital, Boston where he served as Chief Fellow during his final year of training. After 3 ½ years as an attending Pediatric Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist at Children's Hospital, Boston, Dr. Epstein relocated to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center to become Director of Pacing and Defibrillation. He joined Pediatric Cardiology Associates in 2003 becoming Maine's first and only Pediatric and Congenital Electrophysiologist. His current academic appointment is as Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics, University of Vermont College of Medicine. Dr. Epstein's interests include non-invasive and invasive electrophysiology in both children as well as adults with congenital heart disease.
Dr. Epstein is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology. He has also been awarded special competency in cardiac pacing and cardioversion defibrillation by the Heart Rhythm Society. His research has been published in several journals including the American Journal of Cardiology, Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology (PACE), Annals of Thoracic Surgery, the Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, and Cardiology. Dr. Epstein is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
